The benefits of car seat covers: protection, style and resale value

Auto Interieur Meester· 2 min read

A car's upholstery takes a beating every day: pockets with keys in them, wet coats, a child seat sliding back and forth, months of sun on the same spot. Seat covers absorb all of that. Not as a last resort for a worn-out seat, but as protection for what is still in good shape underneath.

Protection where things go wrong

  • Stains and moisture — spilt coffee or a wet dog never reaches the foam.
  • Wear — the side of the driver's seat goes first; exactly where you slide across on every trip.
  • Sun and UV — original fabric fades and hardens. A cover takes that for you.
  • Children and pets — crumbs, claws and hair stay on the cover instead of in the upholstery.

A fresh look, even in an older car

An interior that looks new does more for your driving than any extra on the radio. In a car that is a few years old, a set of covers is the quickest visible difference there is: crisp seams, even colour, no more worn patch beside the seat lever.

Comfort on every trip

Thanks to their padding and weave, good covers often feel better than the original fabric: less sticking in summer, less cold in winter. With a breathable material you notice it most on longer journeys.

Easy to clean

Artificial leather wipes clean with a damp cloth. Fabric covers can in most cases simply come off and go in the wash. That is a few minutes' work, against the professional interior clean you soon need once there is a stain in the original upholstery.

Holding value at resale

At trade-in or resale, everyone looks at the interior. Original upholstery that has stayed intact under the covers shows up directly in what you are offered — and the covers themselves you can either leave in place or take with you to your next car.

Which set suits you?

We make sets per car and per seat version, so the openings for headrests, armrests and belts are in the right place. Have a look at car seat covers for passenger cars, camper seat covers or van seat covers. Want to know how much work fitting is first? Take a look at the installation manuals; most sets take under fifteen minutes per seat.
